| According to externalism, the contents of many mental states depends on relations between an individual's and properties instantiated in his or her environment. Externalism is widely thought to be inconsistent with priviledged self-knowledge. In this paper, I argue that teleosemantics has the resources to provide a partial reconciliation between externalism and priviledged self-knowledge. |
