Epistemic attitudes consensus and truth

Abstract : This talk (University of Chicago April 2015) advances the hypothesis that the assertability conditions of belief predicates in Italian are subjunctive triggers. It advances a new lexical entry for Italian `believe' (credere) and `find that' (trovare). This talk is a forerunner to the paper "Assertability conditions of epistemic (and fiction) attitudes and mood variation" appearing in the Proceedings of SALT 26.
